Chardonnay: I'm digging the tremolo guitar intro! Look out, here we come! A quintessential GT keyboard part that Shelley plays wonderfully. Lots of chords, the poor dear...Peppy Gil Ray drumming, which is even more impressive knowing that we weren't all that familiar with the arrangement of the song when we recorded it. Matter of fact, I got a rough mix of this and Scott was yelling out the changes to us as we were recording it. I had completely forgotten that the original length of this song was way longer than it ended up. I'm pretty sure he had to cut it down for space considerations, but I don't remember if that was because of vinyl or CD reasons. I do know that this was the very first CD I owned. I didn't get a player until later on. Groovy tambourine wore my ass out. I love the breakdown in the middle that leads into a very kickass bridge. I'm whomping the shit out of the drums at the end. Was CharDONNAY a play on DONNY? Hmmm.

Last Day That We're Young:  Damn! What a cool progression! Gui is playing a very great bass part (I think it's Gui...) Drums are sounding like drums on this side and you know that makes me happy. This is such a cool song! The interplay between the instruments is something to behold. "What was it we were always wanting? Didn't we know we had it all?" Damn. What a way for the band to end the record with. I really like that he put a bit of some of the weird tape manipulation stuff at the very end that leads to....

Together Now, Very Minor:  I had nothing to do with this one and I think it's the most beautiful song on the album. Stuff running through a Leslie is always good. I bet Mitch had something to do with that.

OK. There you go. This was special mainly because I remember we were all still really good friends and thought "we had it all". It was the first record in a long while that the personnel that played on it, actually got to tour for it also. We were gettin' along and playing really well together. The tour that followed was the most awesome tour I've ever been on. It just happens to be the tour that Donny booked. She did good. So did Shelley, Gui, myself, and of course Scott. He did real good.
